Photos, Art, Music, and Stuff
The picture below was taken in July 2013 at a local arts and craft fair near Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. The 4th generation Hawaiian wood carver, Tau, was so talented and personable I had to buy one of his tiki. He carved tiki at the craft fair and “signed” it while we watched. The woman behind us is his companion who creates designs on hand-made bark cloth called “tapa.” I bought one of her stylized pictures of a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, also called the reef fish, the state fish of Hawaii.
Below is one of three sets of pictures from our 2014 trip to the Big Island. We did quite a bit of snorkeling around the rocks off the beaches. We made special trips to see the black sand beaches. Click on the small image to see a bigger one.
